Omochumne - Hartnell Water District
Servicing the Community of the Cosumnes River

Omochumne-Hartnell Water District (OHWD) is seeking a jurisdictional modification to extend the boundary of the Cosumnes sub-basin (5-22.16) north to include all of OHWD. The new northern boundary of the Cosumnes Subbasin would follow the OHWD boundary along the District’s eastern and western boundaries and along the district’s northern boundary which coincides with Grant Line Road. This modification will remove Omochumne-Hartnell Water District from the South American Subbasin (5-22.65) and place all of OHWD into the Cosumnes Subbasin.

Information Meeting on Basin Boundary Modification Request

There will be an informational meeting to present an explanation of the Basin modification and will be seeking input from local agencies and interested parties.

Date:  March 18, 2016

Time:  10:00 am

Location: Rancho Murieta Community Services District Board Room, 15160 Jackson Road, Rancho Murieta, CA  95683

Omochumne-Hartnell Water District asserts that scientifically all of the District belongs in the Cosumnes Subbasin. The northern boundary of the District is very similar to the northern boundary of the San Joaquin River Hydrologic basin.  See Map.

The district also contends that being divided into two separate subbasins will make it difficult to govern the District.  The commonality with the Cosumnes subbasin in land use and water use better suits OHWD and would provide for better governance of the subbasin with the whole district being included.

We will be updating this page regularly are we develop more information on the boundary adjustment.
